Lunch with Mark at Rilion Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy

CodeMark TV Episode 40

Romulo Reis Pereire began learning Jiu-Jitsu in Florianoplois, Brazil when he was a young boy. Romulo’s father tried to teach him boxing, but his heart was drawn to martial arts. As Romulo progressed in Jiu-Jitsu, he became a student of Carlos Grace, also from Brazil, who emphasized the life lessons behind the sport. Romulo was lucky enough to create a friendship with Carlos, which changed his life.

Change Your Life

Carlos believed that the true practice of Jiu-Jitsu is not about being the best at martial arts; the foundation is to change your life and the lives of those around you. For Romulo, Jiu-Jitsu spoke volumes to his introspective side. With almost 30 years of practice, it has taught him to look inside himself when he is faced with both external and internal problems. But don’t worry…it doesn’t take that long for this sport to make an impact on your life.

Jiu-Jitsu strengthens your mind and gives you confidence. It allows you to defend yourself, if needed, and mix exercise with personal development. And it’s great for kids. Jiu-Jitsu teaches children discipline and provides a healthy form of physical activity.

Rilion Gracie Academy has 4 locations in Texas that offer classes to adults and kids. Romulo oversees the Missouri City, Westheimer and Katy locations. He has been a resident of the U.S. for 7 years and a Texan for 3 years. Through Rilion Gracie Academy, Romulo has created a family and community that is truly doing something great for all of Missouri City.

So, as you can see, there is so much more to the new Township Square than clothing and restaurants. Grab the kids and come down to Rilion Gracie to learn self-defense and become the very best version of yourself!
