One of the first steps to getting a home loan is to look at your credit score.
The credit pre-approval minimum score requirement is 640. Some lenders claim they can help people with lower than a 600 credit score however, you’re not going to be giving yourself a lot of loan options. It’s important to try to work your credit score to a 640 before looking for a loan.
There are 3 credit bureaus and none of them score the same. One is going to be high, one is going to be low and one will be in the middle. The middle number is what the lender looks at.
